Some of the Juko Kai arts offered at ICE® are:

Shorin Ryu Karate

One of the five principle martial arts of Okinawa.  Karate is the hard fist fighting style in combat.  This includes punching, kicking and striking.  This is an excellent art for someone just starting out in the martial arts.

Juko Ryu Jujutsu

Throwing and grappling art of Juko Kai.  Please do not confuse this with sport Ju Jitsu that is popular on TV.  This is an extremely effective combat art and deals with throws, locks, strikes, kicks, and pressure point techniques.  This art is for the person who is not afraid of getting physical.  This is the system that is taught to law enforcement and the military.

Juko Ryu Kempo

A very aggressive hard fist art that trains in punches, kicking, locks and leg sweeps.  This is an art for people who are not willing or able to do throws.  This is a very fast and effective striking art.

Judo

A very old tradional art based on throwing and choking techniques.  This art is for people who are physically capable of being thrown and can take falling.  This is the only art that can be thought of as sport in our class schedule.

KoBu Jutsu

This is the art of weapons.  This art works on application and use of traditional Okinawan weapons.  The yari (spear), Kaginata (curved blade), Kamas, Sais, Sword, Bo, Jo, and Tanfa are just some of the weapons which will be taught in this class.

Tai Chi, Tai, Ki

Internal energy and breathing systems of Juko Kai.  This class will deal with developing better internal energy and better breathing and movement techniques.  This slow movement style is excellent for improved balance and can help control stress and heart rate.

Special training

Certain weekends.  Please ask about these.
